Since, symbols $\left(\right),\left[\right],\text{ or }\left\{\right\}$ are not to be used. So two terms are to be written in fraction

Step 2 - Write general expression in fraction

Since, general expression in fraction is of the form $\frac{a}{b}$ but to perform subtraction and then division. Let general form be $\frac{a-b}{c}$

Step 3 - Write required example

Substitute 9 for $a$, 5 for $b$ and 2 for $c$ in general form

$\frac{9-5}{2}$

 

Step 4 - Simplify 9 - 5 2

Subtract 5 from 9

 $9-5=4$

Divide 4 by 2

 $\frac{4}{2}=2$
